Overview
Building-integrated agriculture is one of the most rapidly evolving areas of the agriculture industry, and recent technological innovations are enabling urban farmers to exploit underutilized spaces in our cities for food production. This half-day course discusses practical applications of green roof and wall technologies that can be used to implement productive rooftop farming initiatives. Case studies focused on pioneering urban farming operations describe key factors for project success.

Emma Tamlin is the Engagement Manager at Green Roofs for Healthy Cities and Co-Chair of the Toronto Youth Food Policy Council. With a passion for re-naturing cities and an enthusiasm for food because of its connection to human health and environmental sustainability, she hopes to bring more fresh food and nature to cities through urban agriculture and rooftop gardens.
