Performing A Green Roof Cut Test
Comparing Long Term Waterproofing Integrity
Overview
A cut test allows for the testing of the integrity of roofing components, such as the waterproofing membrane through the removal of a small cross-section. This procedure allows for the comparison of waterproofing found under a green roof with a reference section of exposed roofing membrane. This test was performed at the site of the original downtown Toronto flagship location of Mountain Equipment Coop at 400 King Street West.
See the full results of the test in the Spring 2020 issue of the Living Architecture Monitor (livingarchitecturemonitor.com/)
Special thanks to Soprema and Mountain Equipment Coop for helping make this possible.
