Overview

In response to the COVID 19 Pandemic, Green Roofs for Healthy Cities and the Green Infrastructure Foundation have teamed up to bring you CitiesAlive, combining outstanding world class speakers with cutting edge emerging professionals and award-winning project videos.

CitiesAlive® Virtual 2021 is a multi-disciplinary conference, bringing together the very best designers, product manufacturers, researchers, and policy makers in the field of living architecture and green infrastructure. Attendees will hear from leading-edge designers, discussing their innovative approaches and award winning projects. We will be highlighting progressive policies , as well as the latest research. Join us in shaping a better, more resilient future, as we emerge stronger from COVID-19 pandemic.

Agenda

Day 1 - Emerging Professionals Research Launch Pad
- Join faculty and students from GRHC’s Living Architecture Centres of Excellence and other emerging research professionals as they share research findings across a broad range of subjects. Launch into the CitiesAlive Virtual conference by taking advantage of this FREE session!
Day 2 - Green Roofs & Agriculture + Designing for Biodiversity
- Learn from industry leaders as they present about various strategies used to design for biodiversity. Additionally, tune into our green roofs and urban agriculture session to explore the tremendous opportunity to reclaim urban agricultural space using green roofs and walls. On this day of the conference we will be hosting our Ask an Expert session, allowing companies to showcase their innovative products and projects that are pushing the boundaries of green infrastructure implementation.
Day 3 - Biophilic Design + Blue-Green Technologies
- Join us on this day of CitiesAlive 2021 to explore the latest trends in biophilic design, from integration using the Internet of Nature, to the incorporation of soundscape engineering in commercial offices. Additionally, we will feature a second round panel discussion about the Myths of Blue-Green Roofs and best practices for blue-green roof design. Lastly, we will be hosting our CitiesAlive Virtual Networking Hour for attendees to connect with each other virtually and make valuable connections within the global industry.
Day 4 - International Market & Project Showcase
- The last day of CitiesAlive Virtual 2021 will feature our new International Market and Project Showcase, presented by World Green Infrastructure Network. Join us in these plenary sessions to explore case studies, innovative projects, and international market trends in the green roof and wall industries. We will be featuring different countries throughout the day including: India, Taiwan, Colombia, Germany, Brazil, and more to be announced. This is an unprecedented opportunity to not only discover how green infrastructure is being implemented around the world.
