Overview
Green Roof Plants and Growing Media is part three of the three-part Green Roof Professional (GRP) Training series. This course will provide you with an overview of plants and growing media design considerations and maintenance for green roof assemblies. It establishes design and implementation best management practices for plants and growing media in green roofs. You will also gain insight into the latest industry developments, technical standards and research findings, with reference to relevant examples and case studies. While this course can be taken alone, the material presented here can also be used in preparation for the GRP Accreditation Exam.
Includes:
- Unlimited access to Green Roof Plants & Growing Media
- Access to the Green Roof Plants & Growing Media Digital Resource Manual
- Certificate of completion
Learning Objectives
- Facilitate communication between the various professions involved in green roof design and implementation by acquainting participants with basic plant and growing medium design terminology.
- Identify performance criteria of green roof elements.
- Understand basic factors that influence plant and growing media design according to predetermined performance criteria.
- Determine factors that affect successful green roof plant and growing media design, installation and maintenance.
- Understand how to diagnose common problems with green roofs in order to remedy them.
