New York Virtual Symposium 2021

Green Roofs Research and Practice

Did you know that there are 736 buildings with green roofs in NYC? BUT this represents only 0.1% of NYC's 1 million buildings!

Local Laws 92 and 94, recently passed by New York City Council, require green roofs, solar panels or a combination of both on all new buildings and roof deck replacements. With more new green infrastructure policies and incentives on the way, NYC is becoming a leader in green infrastructure.

Join us for an exciting collaboration between the GRRA and GRHC where we pair research with practice. Examine the science behind green roofs, discover best design practices, learn about city policy, and take a close look at case studies that exemplify the benefits of green roofs.
